I’m a media production pro from Ithaca, NY, specializing in higher education and music videos.
Originally from broadcast, I worked as a master control operator and then as a producer for creative services at WENY (Lilly Broadcasting) making commercials for local television. I left broadcasting to start a media production company which initially specialized in music videos. I found work with artists from all over upstate New York and eventually created the local band concert series, Navigator Sessions, to help promote growing artists by creating high-quality live performance videos.
Working around Ithaca, I quickly made connections at Cornell University to fill a growing gap for video creation, especially in online education. This early work with the university spurred a new passion of mine: finding solutions to create engaging educational experiences with online media.
While splitting my time between gigs and working for the University, the pandemic created a boom in online education, which allowed me to fully switch focus working with eCornell and the department of external education for a few years.
My innovative approach to media production at eCornell had a huge impact on the department's quality and efficiency, creating better experiences for students, and helping facilitate the growth of their creative team from three to thirty full-time employees. For this effort to expand Cornell's reach through video (especially during the pandemic), I was given The Trustee Award for employee excellence.
I continue to work at eCornell as the Technical Director of Creative Services, refining the University's process and production of online media. I also continue serve the Twin Tiers and Finger Lakes regions of New York by providing the best quality video at competitive prices. For volunteer work, I serve on the Infrastructure Committee at WSKG Public Media to help share my knowledge of efficient modern media production.
